User Feedback
User feedback is an important aspect of interactivity on any web site. How else will you know if you are meeting your audience's needs or whether your information is incorrect or out of date?
You need answers to questions like:
- What are your users' information requirements?
- Did you meet their requirements?
- How did they arrive at your web pages?
- Is your information up to date or are there errors that need fixing?
- Are they looking for a leisurely browsing experience or the fastest path to the information they need?
Our corporate image includes a Feedback icon at the top of each page but the concept of inviting user feedback is recommended to providers of hosted pages.
The Hantsweb Manager co-ordinates feedback on Hantsweb and distributes messages to individual web page producers as necessary.
If you seek feedback on your web pages, you must have in place a mechanism for ensuring that feedback is actioned - and replied to. If you are not prepared to reply to the originator of the feedback, you should not invite their interaction in the first place.
Try our Hantsweb feedback button form now by clicking on the feedback icon at the top of this page.
Online forms
FormMail is a universal world wide web form that enables visitors to submit requests for information to you in a structured format that you are able to control. The script, FormMail.pl, already resides on the Hantsweb server and may be used to implement an interactive form for hosted and departmental pages without reference to the Hantsweb Support Team. (Further information on the use of FormMail is available).
An example of an interactive form is available in Hantsweb:
Using FormMail takes practice when creating a form for the first time. Contact the Hantsweb Manager for help if required.
