Linholme. Part of St. John's College. Circa 1840, stucco villa. Two storeys. Low pitch hipped slate roof. Three window front, each window bay stepped from the other, the one to the west containing the entrance, projects more as a wing. Tuscan columned porch to wing parapet with ball finials. Flush panelled door, semi-circular fanlight. Two small round headed lights flank porch. East front is also stepped in two window bays. First floor window to right converted to door and canted bay window on ground floor to left. | T&CP Act CA |

The brick south section of the building is modern, the rest rendered. Mature slate roof. Bracketed eaves at varying levels on White Lodge, although the roof line remains the same. The Mystery. Typical A.E. Cogswell public house for Brickwoods Brewery. The building is on a triangular site and has been retained as a contrast to later development. Mainly two storeys with tiled gabled roof, upper storey in black and white 'half-timbering'.
