Trinity Methodist Church. Built 1900. Brick building with stone dressings. Impressive portico on the front elevation with four large stone pilasters supporting a pediment. The pilasters flank a palladian style window at the base of which is a balustrade simulating a balcony. An outstanding feature is the very tall tower with stone frets near the top and a cornice surmounted by a cupola, modified into a four-sided capping. The main features are the ornate iron and glazed canopies, over the twinned doorways, which are supported on corbels affixed to front elevation. Original doors of leaded tinted glass. Nos. 39-49, 51-61, 63-83. Group of three stuccoed terraces of mainly two storey houses with three storey projecting end houses to ends of each terrace. Steeply pitched gable end slate roofs. One dormer to each two storey house. Two windows on first floor and one large sash window to ground floor on each two storey house. Flush panelled doors. Continuous glazed roof verandah on wood supports. Three storey houses have round headed second floor window and superimposed canted bays to ground and first floors. | CA |
