Crofton Manor Hotel. Large house of various dates and irregular plan, with small courtyard facing east. C.1 7 north wing, red brick with grey headers and old tile steeply pitched roof, chimney stack at junction with C.19 east-west wing. Holy Rood Church. Originally dedicated to St. Edmund, King and Martyr. Cruciform church, the exterior is of white stone, rendered, with brick buttresses, the west end is brick. Wide C.15 nave, C.14 south chapel and north transept. West wall in Georgian brick, south transept of early C.19. Nave has C.15 type square-headed windows and west wall has Gothic window with wooden tracery. Half-hipped old tiled roof of Queen post construction. Interior has C.17/18 pulpit, wall monument to Thomas Missing of 1733, and several tablets. Several sarsen stones used in foundations.
