St. Francis. Built in 1836, the architect was probably Jacob Owen. The church is T-shaped and stuccoed, with traceried windows, hoods and bargeboards. An important feature is the stained glass window by John Ruskin, which was removed from a church in Gloucestershire. | T&CP Act |

No. 1. Formerly two buildings, the southern one on the corner with West Street. This is of painted brick, with pantiled roof, two storeys with early C.20 altered shop front with corner door. The northern section was refronted in C.19. It has three storeys, stuccoed facade with moulded cornice forming coping to parapet, the old tiled hipped roof is visible above the parapet.
