 West Dean Hill. This area is within the site of special scientific interest which stretches from Pepperbox Hill in Wiltshire. The whole site includes open downland, hawthorn and juniper scrubland and beech, ash and yew woods. Habitat for many species of chalk grassland plants and woodland ground flora. The area within East Dean is located by the grid references given.     S.S.S.I.
