Gilpins Cottage, School Lane, Boldre. 2 storeys. Colour washed brick. Tile roof, hipped and gabled. Brick chimney stacks. Cottage used as first school in Boldre. Gilpin, Vicar of Boldre, built the school for four hundred pounds in 1791. Opened on July 1st. School tablet reads:- 'For the Instruction of Children of day labourers of Boldre, This School was endowed by William Gilpin many years vicar of the parish. | SZ 325 982 2202 19 |
