C.19		 Symonds House. 2 storeys. Stucco, wide eaves and hipped slate roof. Central door on east front with Tuscan portico at top of small terrace and approached by steps. Front set back from road and flanked by plain garden walls along road verge which give distinction to its setting. South front has C.19 sash windows and sliding shutters.     T. & C. P. Act

C.17		 Christ's Hospital. Nos. 1-7 (consec.). Dated 1607, on stone in south gable end, but altered late C. 1 9. 2 storeys, centre gable on east front of 3 storeys. Red brick with stone quoins, blue brick patterns on a flint base. Tiled roof. Central east gable rebuilt. Casement windows, and arched doorways. Red brick stacks set diagonally on stone bases at rear. No. 7 added in grey brick, mid C.19. Founded by Peter Symonds to aid six old men, one matron and four boys, and to assist one scholar at each of the two universities.     T. & C. P. Act
