Parapet roof not visible, Central windows enclosed in large arch divided by central Ionic column with flanking half columns and entablature. Wrought iron balconies to second floor windows. Architect. C.18		 Nos. 49 and 50. Formerly the Old Guildhall. Ground floor of stone Doric columns and four flat arches partly modern. Upper part brick with stone quoins and moulded stone cornice. Central niche with lead statue of Queen Anne, flanked by three windows each side. Roof not visible. Fine clock on carved timber brackets, dated 1713, projects over street. Timber belfry with lead cupola at west end, crowned by golden ball and weathercock.     T. & C. P. Act

C.19		 Dolphin Inn. Rebuilt 1883, for R. Moss a Winchester brewer. Half-timbered. Casement windows with leaded lights and oriel windows below. Cupola on corner with wrought iron finial and plaster dolphin decoration over doorway. Plaster decoration on St. Thomas Street frontage of lamb and flag, showing St. John's Hospital were the ground landlords.     C.A.
